Persvrijheidsfonds (Free Press Fund)
The objective of the Persvrijheidsfonds (Free Press Fund) is to
support legal proceedings in matters of principle, which allow
journalists to do their work in the greatest possible freedom. The
Persvrijheidsfonds regularly cooperates with Kennedy Van der
Laan.
On 6 January 2010
Otto Volgenant and
Ilan de Vré of Kennedy Van der Laan argued a
case on the protection of journalistic sources at a hearing of
the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights in
Strasbourg. The case in question is that of Autoweek/Sanoma
versus the State of the Netherlands. The Persvrijheidsfonds
supports these proceedings. Click
