Sophie van Loon
After her law studies, Sophie van Loon first worked at Radboud
University Nijmegen as a doctoral candidate. She worked on a
dissertation and gained experience as a lecturer. She also
contributed to the ITeR (Information Technology & Law) research
program with the evaluation 'Databases Law and Competition'
(Sdu, 2004). In 2008 Sophie obtained a doctorate with her
dissertation 'Refusal to License as Abuse of a Dominant
Position. Intellectual Property, Article 82 of the EC Treaty and
the Obstruction of Innovation' (DeLex, 2008).
Since 2008 Sophie is an attorney with Kennedy Van der Laan, where
her practice covers all aspects of intellectual property law. In
addition, she lectures and publishes within her field.
