Thijs Ridder
Thijs Ridder has been working in the Employment Law Group of
Kennedy Van der Laan since 2007. Before that time, when he studied
at the University of Amsterdam, Thijs worked as a paralegal in
a law firm and as a volunteer for the legal aid shop
Stichting Wetwinkel Amsterdam.
The majority of his clients are national and international
businesses, but he also assists private individuals on a regular
basis. In his practice, Thijs offers litigation, negotiation and
advice on diverse employment-law issues, such as disputes on
dismissals, non-competition clauses and reorganizations. Guiding
reorganizations is his special interest. Thijs has been intensively
involved (also internally) in all aspects of large and medium-sized
reorganizations of national and international businesses: drafting
and reviewing the request for advice to the Works Council, drafting
and reviewing the Social Plan, applying the principle of
proportionality, negotiating severance payments, and conducting
legal proceedings possibly arising from the reorganization. Besides
his work as an attorney, Thijs teaches courses on employment law in
both Dutch and English to clients (among others).
Thijs not only feels great enthusiasm for employment law,
but also for football and Italy.
